What is an Amazon associate?

Amazon associates is an affiliate marketing program that allows website owners and bloggers to create links and earn referral fees when customers click through and buy products from Amazon. It's completely free to join and easy to use. Amazon pays their associates automatically at the end of every month by the method you choose in your associates account.

How do I become an Amazon associate?

Anyone can become and and Amazon associate, their are no requirements and they are free to join. Just sign up for the Amazon associate program you wish to sell on. Note this doesn't have to be the one for your country. Below is a list of the countries with Amazon associate schemes.

USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Canada, China, Italy, Spain, India, Brazil, and Mexico.

What is EZamazon?

EZamazon is a an Amazon associates store script. It allows Amazon associates to create ecommerce stores which list Amazon products. When a website visitior clicks through and makes a purchaae on Amazon the associate makes a commision for that sale.

What are the requirements of EZamazon?

EZamazon requires Linux hosting with Apache webserver, PHP and a domain name. EZamazon does not provide hosting. Pretty much all Linux web hosting will be compatible.

The PHP version needs to be version 5.4.0 or above. Most hosting provides the option to ensure you are running this version or above but it may be worth checking first.

What are the costs of EZamazon?

The intial cost of the EZamazon licence is all you pay, there is no on-going costs aprart from your own web hosting costs. Being an Amazon associate member is free.

What is an Amazon associates tag?

Associates earn commissions by using their own websites to refer sales to Amazon.com. To get a commission, an Associate must have an Associate ID, also known as an Associate tag. The Associate ID is an automatically generated unique identifier that you will need to make requests through the Product Advertising API.

Where do I get my Amazon API Key from?

What countries have Amazon associates programs?

USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Canada, China, Italy, Spain, India, Brazil, and Mexico.

Can my EZamazon store sell the items for multiple associates countries (locales) at once?

At the moment this is not possible, you will need to select which Amazon associate scheme your website will be based on and then your store will work with this scheme.

Will I have to deal with stock, returns, exchanges etc?

No all of this is handeled by Amazon.

Where can I see a list of categories to base my store on?

Read the Amazon locale information for your marketplace, you can find a list here: Amazon locale information.

For example if I wanted to base a UK store on clothing I would look at this page http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSECommerceService/latest/DG/LocaleUK.html and I would enter the search index of "Apparel" and the root browse node of 83451031 into my EZamazon store admin page. Note it is possible to use a browse node furthur down the tree if you want to base a store on a category within Apparel for example you could set your root browse node as 1730980031 which is hoodies within Apparel.

What are Amazon browse nodes?

Amazon uses a hierarchy of nodes to organize its items for sale. Each node represents a collection of items for sale, such as Harry Potter books, not the items themselves. Browse node IDs are positive integers that uniquely identify product collections, for example, Literature & Fiction, Medicine, Mystery & Thrillers, Nonfiction, Outdoors & Nature. Amazon uses over 120,000 browse node IDs.

How do I find specific browse nodes on Amazon?

We recommend using http://www.findbrowsenodes.com

Alternatively you can search in Google for https://www.amazon.co.uk/category-name/ and the browse node id should appear in the Amazon URL indexed by Google.

How many products will my EZamazon store list?

It all depends on the categories you choose. Currently Ezamazon can list upto 20 categories and 20 brands which if fully utilised would equate to 4,000 products but with browse nodes switched on your site will list far more beyond this. We recommend targeting sites at smaller niches however for more targetted selling.

Where can I see a list of colours that I can use for my CSS settings?

The admin tool provides a colour picker for the CSS colour fields or you can use a program such as Photoshop to help. Alternatively use a list such as this one:


Do You have a list of Amazon affiliate commission percentages for product categories?

I sell products on Amazon can I display them through EZamazon?

As long as the products are listed on Amazon, it is possible to display them in an EZamazon store.

Is EZamazon SEO friendly

EZamazon is built to be as SEO friendly as possible. It comes with an XML sitemap, meta tags and schema markup. As much as possible we would advocate adding your own content to the store using the text block modules and the custom page builder tool to create some unique content.

What size should my logo be?

EZamazon works best with logos up to 333px wide. Depth is not limited.

Can you design a logo for me?

Unfortunately not. You could try using Fiverr.com and search for logo design. Ideally locate a designer with a good customer rating and a speedy turnaround time. Also try locate a designer who provides revisions in case you don't like the first one they produce for you. You'll be able to stipulate the design or colour adjustments by doing this.

How can I monitor the traffic that I get to my site?

Within the EZamazon admin panel there is a section allowing you to enter your Google analytics account number. A Google analytics account number is in the format: UA-12345678-9 (numbers will be different)

Can I change the code in your script in any way?

The only changes permitted are to be made via the admin panel of your script. Please read the PDF document contained within your script download for full details. Reference: EZamazon software licence

Do we receive all future updates for free once we have purchased your script?

Gold customers are premitted to one free upgrade to a future version of EZamazon and Platinum members benefit from lifetime free upgrades.

What is your refund policy?

Upon purchase we honour the UK distance selling regulations which entitle you to a 7 day cooling-off period. During this time you are entitled to change your mind and if you do you will receive a full refund within 30 days. You must stop using the script upon cancellation.

Will I make money using your script?

It is impossible for the script on its own to make you money. The script has been optmised in many ways to help search engines such as Google to index your site. Your ultimate success depends upon you promoting your site and ensuring that you acquire quality backlinks and ensure that Google indexes your site.

I know nothing about uploading scripts or even the basics of web design, can you upload the script for me and set it up?

Is this a Wordpress script?

EZamazon is not a Wordpress plugin. You could use EZamazon alongside Wordpress however there is no current integration.

Can I use EZamazon as website CMS / blogging platform?

Yes it is possible to switch off all Amazon related ecommerce settings and pages. This means whilst EZamazon is a Amazon affiliate store at it's core, you can use it as a pure blogging or website CMS tool also if you wished with the ability to link through to Amazon products.

I have seen cheaper Amazon affiliate scripts, why should I buy yours?

Feel free to purchase the cheaper ones. EZamazon will still be here when you discover what the cheaper ones are missing :)

Do you offer a free trial period?

While you cannot download the actual script, you can get full and free access to the demo store and admin area to review the script before purchase.

How should I backup my site?

We recommend making a full backup copy of your site to another location or offline. The important points of EZamazon to note to backup is the XML folder since this is where your settings are saved, the pages folder since this is where your custom pages are saved and any custom images you upload to the images folder.

What is the API responses (cache) folder?

The API responses folder is a cache of all the xml your store receives from the Amazon product advertising API. EZamazon saves this data so that the 2nd time around it can load this data from this cache and speed up web page load times.

You can control how long your store saves this data with various controls in the admin panel. You can set how how many days it is stored for, what the maximum size of the cache should be and you can clear it manually. You could also setup a cron script to hit the URL http://yoursite.com/fragments/xmlCleanUp.php?now=true every now again which will trigger a cache clear.

Is there an XML sitemap?

In the footer of your EZamazon site there is a link to a html sitemap page. You'll notice this URL has the parameter on the end of the URL html=true. If you remove this parameter e.g. change http://store.ezamazon.co.uk/sitemap.php?html=true to http://store.ezamazon.co.uk/sitemap.php you'll notice the sitemap then renders as XML only. This version can be submitted into Google search console as the XML sitemap for your site. It is automatically updated with all the key landing pages for your site.

Can I create my own pages?

You can use the custom pages tool in the admin area to create your own bespoke pages. You can create unlimited custom pages and these pages are automatically included into the sites navigation and XML sitemap to be indexed by search engines. You can use the custom pages tool to create unique pages about the products your store sells.

You can include products into the pages by putting the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) surrounded by curly brackets e.g. {{'B00KAKUN3E'}} for one product or {{'B01DFKBL68','B01GAGVIE4','B00Y3TM6CO'}} etc... for mutiple products. You can use this feature to make your own custom product listing pages.

What is an ASIN?

ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number. Almost every product on Amazon has its own ASIN, a unique code they use to identify it. For books, the ASIN is the same as the ISBN number, but for all other products a new ASIN is created when the item is uploaded to Amazons catalogue.
